I was not real happy with the chrome paint. so I decided to go back to original black plastic, I was going to buy one for $10.00, but shipping is $14.00. So I soaked it in Goof Off and all the paint came right off. Marvelous stuff.

Ive tried using chrome paint before and like you just found out it dont work. The oem chrome is a plastic coating, I dont know what its called
