yes the gloves do help in the rain you have to pull them over your rain jacket or else you end up with an armfull of water in your jacket

Maybe this is a dumb question, but wouldn't ski gloves work for riding in the winter?
I'm just wearing an old pair of cycling gloves right now, but I've got a ways to go before I need anything warmer.

the problem with ski gloves is the wind and if you fall they dont provide any protection they do keep your hands a bit warmer that is what i wore in april is just some good winter ski gloves and most of them are not very water proof i was thinking about these gloves www.aogear.com/catalog.asp?prodid=563819&showprevnext=1

Those are nice looking gloves. Unfortunately I will probably never get anything like that down here, but I did buy some mesh/textile gloves fro riding. Get protection and not have my hands sweat like crazy.

so what "rain gear" do you all wear? when it's raining i usually just tough it out with whatever i have on. and in the winter i just wore my fleece lined gloves because they were warm and i could move my fingers easily, but i'm sure there are better ones out there

I got a two-piece rain suit at K-Mart. It is bright yellow. When I wear it I look like a giant canary, but it keeps me dry!
