so what "rain gear" do you all wear? I have a rain suit from Performance Bikes. It's got a flourescent yellow jacket and black pants and lots of reflective stuff on the back, since it's for bicycles. It's made of nylon and actually would be fairly warm to wear on a bike, but seems fine for the scoot. I've had to put it on twice since I started riding. I like the jacket especially because it makes me feel REALLY visible. I also have an Illuminite reflective vest (also for a bike) that I'll wear in the mornings when the lighting is fairly low. I just feel better wearing it. You never know when someone is putting on their makeup, texting, or just not awake enough yet to see you. For gloves, right now, I'm wearing a pair of half finger cycling gloves. They have a padded palm.

I have one also as well as an orange reflective backpack cover that I put on my backpack while I am wearing it. Like you said, I like it because it makes me feel REALLY visible.

So far they have been great. We had a couple of 55 degree mornings last week. My hands felt great, but my legs were freezing. Gloves are very comfortable and fit better than any others I tried on.
