Hey jmkjr72, how old was your bad laptop? It seems to me that they are breaking down sooner or maybe its just that we use them more for more things. I had a Toshiba laptop for only two years before it went kaputz. Now I have an imac that I use at home, and this thing better last me a long time.

Sounds like the jack on the back that the charger plugs in to.

Hey jmkjr72, hows it coming along with Vista? Is it as much a pain as I have heard some people say it is? I also hear it is similar to a Mac.

it seems ok i have to get used to all the security alerts every time something updates or you install something you get an alert i seems to take a bit longer booting up but i have yet to have the wonderfully low memory alert as i went with 4 gigs of ram right off the bat the only apple computers i have ever worked on was the good old IIe so i have no idea how it compares to a mac i love the built in blue tooth and wireless

People bad mouth Vista all the time and they are stupid. Its a new operating system that needs to have all the kinks worked out of it. I remember when everyone hated xp and said im sticking to 98/2000/NT. Now everyone loves xp but hates vista. The thing I like the most is that they have developed new networking stacks that allow data to be transferred quicker than xp can. Sorry everyone bashes vista only because they expect to know everything about it by the time it boots up. Its like switching cars, it takes a little bit to find out about all the features and quirks. No one wants to read the documentation when they can just bitch about it instead.
And to get rid of those annoying security popups you have to go under the control panel, but I forget where else you go off the top of my head.
