we have said before that if we are ever in a position where we can afford to drive across the country on our scooters we would love to.

That is great that you will do a birthday ride. Make sure that you take plenty of pictures and/or video and post them for us to see. I am planning a long distance ride sometime in the fall. One day I will just put the scoot on the pickup and drive for a few days and when I stop, I will get on the scoot and ride it like a maniac. Would love to do Route 66!
