Hopefully, we haven't attracted much of a yamaha crowd.

My reasons for riding a scooter are probably the same as most everyone else here. I just wanted one. I'm a bicyclist at heart, a bit of a transportation minimalist. I would ride my bike to work everyday but it's a little hot right now and there are some days when I have to travel off hospital property for meetings. The bike is no good for that. A scooter is perfect for going to those meetings and for getting back and forth to work when it's too hot to ride. My commute is almost 10 miles one way and a bike commute involves showering and changing clothes. I've wanted a scooter long before gas prices went up so much. After Hurricane Katrina, I lived in a travel trailer at work for 15 months. During that time, I had knee surgery. It was sort of an elective surgery in that I chose to do it while I was living at work so that I would not have to drive anywhere. I knew I could drive a scooter with a leg brace on. It absolutely was killing me to buy one, but since I LIVED at the hospital didn't feel like I could justify it, since I didn't really have to drive anywhere. Still, I kept seeing more and more employees getting scooters and parking them here. I moved into my new house in January of 2007 and it still ate at me how bad I wanted a scooter, but there were so many other things I needed, like furniture, that I couldn't justify spending the money. The final impetous to getting my Honda Met was the gas prices. Once they hit $4.00, I just said "that's it." Now, it's just plain fun to ride everyday. And, days like today, when it's raining and T-storming, I get all depressed because I had to drive my truck to work. That's it!! ;D

it still amazes me that only a few of those guys have come over here and even fewer have posted I didn't lose interest in ZF until I came back from AT and got lost in everything that was going on there. I got bored while trying to catch up on the similiar threads so I just decided to focus my time here instead.

the one thing i've noticed a few times recently over on urbanscootin was that people were posting the exact same thread in every section.. it was soooo annoying.
